As someone who has been on Valence for well over a year I can not in good conscience suggest anyone join this server. There are a lot of good things about valence there are nice plugins and some great people on this server which are the only reason I am still around at all but unfortunately there is so much bad here I would suggest staying away from this server as a whole. The management of this server as a whole is horrible, there are wonderful people on staff and even some nice people in upper management and it is a genuine shame that with how the server is run that means very little as the owner and certain members of staff and upper management ruin it as a whole as someone who has been here for a long time and talked to these people it is really sad to see how clique this server is at the top these people are some of the most two faced people I have ever met. The way they will talk about people on this server privately is horrible and they have bullied many older players off this server entirely and made it hell for others who have tried to stay. They treat this community with such little respect making constant false promises, consistently saying things they know isn’t true lying repeatedly about past mistakes and what they said or what has happened on this server, avoiding any responsibility for what they say or do, and flat out shittalking people and spreading lies about then behind closed doors while encouraging people not to talk to them or listen to them. The amount of stories that I have either been in vc for or been told is uncountable from lying about people I know behind their back in dms or private rooms, lying to me about what they have said and not taking responsibility for literally anything whenever they are called out then leaving, deleting posts from previous staff and players that talks about what they have seen or done behind the scenes, blatantly lying about what they have done and taking credit for other people’s work, lying about why people have left or why they removed someone from the server or staff at multiple points, making and spreading fake rumors about people they don’t like, and not taking any action towards certain favorites when they break rules repeatedly or do horrible things that would get any other member banned. I have had to sit in multiple vcs where they shittalk my friends and lie about them to my face and say nothing because of who these people are and the positions they hold here especially knowing what they have done to other people who speak out against them straight up bullying multiple people off of this server or bringing it from out of character into rp on this server with the main person running this server and multiple of the upper management who will do whatever they say being the biggest metagamers on the server repeatedly using out of character information or abusing their staff privileges for in character gain. It is genuinely sad to have to see players and staff talked about and treated so poorly after multiple people and staff left the server a while back many of whom were my friends and had been voicing the concerns with the server for months and just wanting the server to change for the better and not being listened to and finally deciding to leave to hear the owner of the server when asked about these people who left including multiple staff members and hear him say among other things “They weren’t important anyways” is an awful feeling and doesn’t inspire much hope for any change in how things are ran on Valence. It is genuinely hard to open this server and play on it with a good conscience knowing and seeing what they have said about people and how they talk about the people i talk to on the server behind closed doors and not be able to tell them or say anything because of how I have seen people who speak out treated multiple times in the past. It is something that has been known for a long time with older players on valence. If you have been here for a long time and seen all of this you either end up leaving or becoming part of what you hate about this server. There are multiple people I called friends who were genuinely good people who have been pulled into this and become what they hated about this server because that is what a lot of people had have to do you either speak out and get banned/leave, stop playing as much, or try to climb the ranks and become what you used to hate there are good people who have fallen into this group and part of staff that is genuinely mean, people that if their past self would see them now would not be proud of what they have become, people who are here just to kiss up for power which has happened since season one of this server. I can’t tell you to play valence, I can’t say the names of the people who have done a lot of these things or a lot of what they have done that would get removed if ever written down but if you talk to anyone who has been here for along time and is legally allowed to talk about it you will here horror stories about valences management and how people have been treated here. This server has come to be better than what it was in season one but that has been taken by the people running this server to mean it is not still bad that because it isn’t as bad as season one that this means it is in a great spot now and it just isn’t the same person who made season one a toxic cesspool is the same person still making nearly every decision without listening to the community or even other staff and upper management members and shutting down any change for the better now. That’s what I have to say right now it is not the best put together as there are a lot of feelings about this server that makes it hard to get it all out clearly and I could sure use some help from some people who used to be on writing team but like a man said before “they weren’t important anyways”. (This is not my real Minecraft username as there have been people banned for speaking about this server before)

Been here for almost 2 years, 2 years that I've met so many people from around the world, from north and south America to Europe, Australia, the middle east and Asia. This is a great server and community if you like DnD, roleplay AND BRIGANDINE

This server has easily become the place to escape the real world. I love meeting so many people and creating friendships I never thought I would. Valence SMP has a unique world here and its honestly the best server I've ever been on.

If you're looking for a server that's made for those 18+ to play Minecraft with this is the server for you! I've made some amazing connections with the player base, and I look forward to the years to come.

If you're looking for an RP based server with D&D inspiration and styling, this is the server for you! Been on this server for two years now and it's only gotten better as time has went on. The community is so welcoming and helpful, and the staff team works diligently to make sure it is both a safe and fun environment for everyone. I can't recommend this server enough.

THE Best 18+ RP SMP server that I have had the oppurtunity to be apart of for the last 2.5 years. Valence is a kind and welcoming community, with a staff team that keeps it safe. The server has unique plotlines/seasons and it is an overall fun place to be!
